Calendar Highlight – The Ego and The Oracle

Jim's Big Ego: Jim Infantino, Daniel Cantor, and Jesse Fleck.

Sometimes checking out live music in the local bar scene can be less than exciting.  Sure, if you’re lucky and the band is fantastic, you’ll have some solid tunes to listen to while you sip on your gin and tonic (and maybe after a few more you’ll have some fun testing out new dance moves), but a full-on entertainment experience, something new and out of the ordinary,  is not likely on a weeknight at the pub.

Unless it’s this Thursday at The Burren in Davis Square, which is when you’ll encounter Jim’s Big Ego as they perform their live show called The Ego and The Oracle. Much more than a traditional music performance, the band describes The Ego and The Oracle  as ”a live stage spectacular where ‘Ouija Board meets iPod Shuffle.’”

The show, inspired by Radio8Ball, works like this: audience members are invited to ask personal questions of The Oracle, they spin a wheel containing songs by Jim’s Big Ego, and when the wheel stops the band performs whatever song is chosen. The song is meant to be an answer to the audience member’s question.

So stop by The Burren tomorrow night…and make sure to save all major decision-making for Friday morning.

Tickets: $15.00. Show starts at 7pm.
